TNAU Admission 2026: TNAU offers a wide range of programs at UG, PG, Diploma and PhD level, such as BTech, BSc, MTech, MSc, Diploma in Farm Technology, PhD in Agronomy and more. The application process is going to live soon for Tamil Nadu Agricultural University courses, and the last date to submit the application form is 08 June 2025. Students who have completed all the required qualifications from any recognized institution, either from Tamil Nadu or outside of it can apply to their chosen course. 

TNAU Admission process is based on entrance exams such as ICAR for UG, GPAT for PG and NET JRF for PhD programs. Applicants need to pay an application processing fee of INR 200, which will be non-refundable. 

About TNAU: Tamil Nadu Agricultural University was established in the year 1868, after a few years of which it was affiliated to Madras University. As per the latest developments, the university has now become an independent state university, which has provided affiliation to 19 constituent colleges. TNAU will release the application forms for all the UG and Diploma courses for the upcoming academic session of 2026-27. TNAU Application 2026 will go on till a deadline of 8 June 2026 . Interested candidates can get the online application forms via the university’s official website www.tnau.ac.in. 

TNAU offers various UG, PG Diploma and Doctoral programs, including BTech in Agricultural Engineering, BSc in Agriculture, MSc in Microbiology, PhD in Agronomy, Diploma in Horticulture, etc. The application fee for all the candidates of the general category will be INR 200, and the counselling fee is INR 3,000. 

The university has set separate rules for all the students who have completed their prior education from Tamil Nadu and the others who haven’t. All those students of Tamil Nadu region will be granted admission directly through TNAU Online Counselling process, while others will need to qualify in the entrance exam conducted by ICAR. 

Eligibility Criteria for TNAU Admission 2026

All the candidates seeking admission at TNAU in any of the UG, PG, Diploma, or Doctoral courses from any state will need to ensure that they are fulfilling all the required criteria. TNAU’s eligibility requirements for its courses are mentioned below:

• Those applying to any UG courses will need to complete their 12th class from a recognized board and have scored at least 55%. It should also be noted that the scores of Mathematics/Biology, Physics, and Chemistry might be taken into consideration if there is tie of score among the candidates. 
• TNAU’s PG courses require the applicants to have a graduation degree in a relevant field along with a qualifying score of GPAT. The university also provides certain relaxation to the reserved categories in terms of aggregate scores and age limit. 
• Diploma courses at this university only require a certification of completion of 10+2 from the applying students. 
• For the Phd courses of Tamil Nadu Agricultural University, applicants must complete their PG course from a valid university with at least 55%. They will also need to qualify in UGC NET, NET JRF, or other doctoral entrance tests.

TNAU UG Admission 2026

TNAU admissions for its undergraduate courses will begin soon, and the last date for registration is 08 June 2025 for the 2026-27 academic session. A few of the UG courses that candidates can study at TNAU are BTech in Agricultural Information Technology, BSc in Agri Business Management, BSc in Forestry, etc.

Those who have completed their 12th class from any recognized board in Tamil Nadu will need to directly appear for the TNAU Counselling Session, whereas others will need to appear in the entrance test conducted by ICAR.

All the applicants must have opted for the Science stream in their intermediate. They will also need to have a score of at least 55%, however, some leverage of 5-10% is given to the students belonging to reserved categories.

PG Admissions at Tamil Nadu Agricultural University are expected to begin soon for the 2026-27 academic session. The last date for completing the PG registration 2025 will be 30 June 2025*. Some of the TNAU PG Courses are MTech Agricultural Engineering in Processing and Food Engineering, MSc in Fruit Science, MSc in Nematology, and others.

The admission process for the PG program at this university will be based on the entrance exam of GPAT 2025. The eligibility criteria for the master’s degree courses of TNAU require candidates to complete their graduation from a recognized university and score at least 50% in the same.

Their pursued UG degree must also be relevant to the program they have chosen for their master’s. The average fee for all these courses ranges from INR 20,385 to INR 46,490 per year. 

TNAU PhD Admission 2026

Admissions at TNAU for its doctoral level courses are expected to begin on 10 August 2026, and the expected deadline for the PhD application process is 30 June 2025* for the 2026-27 academic session. Some of the research degree programs offered at TNAU are PhD in Soil Science, PhD in Environmental Science, PhD in Agronomy, etc. 

For securing a seat at this university, candidates will need to complete their PG degree from a recognized university in a relevant area and have a score of at least 50%. 

Other than that, they will also need to qualify for a PhD entrance exam like UGC NET, GATE, NET JRF, and others. Following the CBCS pattern, the curriculum of TNAU doctoral courses will be of 100 credits, of which students’ thesis will be a total of 75 credits.

Step 4: Provide all the basic information about yourself and complete your registration by verifying your email address. 

Step 5: Do your TNAU Application login with the login credentials provided to you. 

Step 6: Start filling out the application form by entering information about yourself (address, category, date of birth) and your educational qualifications (12th class school name, aggregate scores, chosen stream) in each section. 

Step 7: Now, the next step will require the applicants to upload a clear digital copy of all the important documents like passport-size photograph, signature, 12th class migration and certificate, etc. 

Step 8: Check the preview of your application form and click on “Submit”.

Step 9: Pay the application fee of INR 200 via any method of payment, and with that, your TNAU Registration process will be completed.
