Madras University offers 71 programs through its open distance learning (ODL), which include 17 UG, 19 PG, 19 Diploma, and 16 Certificate programs. Applicants can choose to study courses like BSc, BBA, BCom, BA, BCA, and BFA in various specializationslike Public Administration, French, Tamil, Music, Mathematics,  Bank Management, Criminology and Police Administration, Historical Studies, etc. The modes of language students can choose to study are English and Tamil. The duration to complete a postgraduate program at the university is 2 years, and the maximum duration provided is 4 years.

6 months is the duration required to complete the Certificate program through distance mode. INR 5550 to INR 9150 is the total tuition fee candidates need to pay at the university for all certificate programs. No applicants will be enrolled if he/she does not pass the intermediate exam in any discipline.
